In November 2007, Concurrent Disorders Support Services was asked, among four networks, to make a presentation to the Mental Health and Addiction Council of the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).
The presentation was structured to address the local priorities of the 2007-10 Integrated Health Service Plan of the Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long term Care.
Wayne Skinner of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Michele Heath of Fred Victor Centre and Lynn Hillman of CDSS attended. The Council responded with a Feedback Summary that outlined both strengths and needed improvements.
To improve, the Council suggested increasing referrals, expanding the partnership, addressing funding issues, involving consumers and families and adding more culturally diverse organizations. A follow-up letter is still to be sent.
