Working With Concurrent Disorders

 

According to Health Canada, research shows that concurrent disorders are associated with risks of:

  • Instability and chronic interpersonal conflicts.
  • Victimization, violence and domestic violence.
  • Family problems and child abuse and neglect.
  • Functional difficulties, such as unemployment or work.
  • Homelessness.
  • Depression and suicide.
  • Relapse and hospitalization.
  • Incarceration.
  • HIV infection.
